Killer Moth figure from Spinmaster!!

I can finally share these awesome photos of the upcoming 4" Killer Moth from Spinmaster's The Caped Crusader action figure line!

Just like the other figures in this line, it looks like Killer Moth will be coming with three mystery weapons. I hope one of them is his cocoon gun and the others are sufficiently moth-y!
While the figure is not directly based on a particular version of Killer Moth from the comics, his helmet bears the most resemblance to Killer Moth's costume from Booster Gold #11.

Regardless of its accuracy, it's great to be getting another classic Killer Moth action figure - on sale soon!!

New Killer Moth toys incoming!!

With Toy Fair 2020 right around the corner, the toy rumors have been flying as fast and furious as the Killer Moth. And rumor has it that he will appear in not one, but two toylines!
First up is Mattel's Imaginext line. I have to say, Killer Moth looks fantastic in this scale in his classic costume. He'll look great next to the already extensive line-up of Batman characters and villains that have been in this fun toy line. We don't know if he will be part of a "blind bag" assortment or a two-pack, but either way we get him is fine by me!

The Killer Moth also shows up in the preview image of Spin Master's new Caped Crusader line. Sadly, Killer Moth wasn't in the first assortment (that spot was taken by another Killer... Killer Croc) but hopefully we'll get the Lethal Lepidoptera in wave 2! He looks like he's wearing a costume similar to his recent appearance in Batgirl comics. We can only hope we get a Barbara Gordon figure to go with him!

I hope we find out more Killer Moth related toy news at Toy Fair 2020 this February!

Is Killer Moth Villain of the Year?

Attention Killer Moth completists! The Killer Moth makes an appearance in Harley Quinn's Villain of the Year #1.

Our Lethal Lepidoptera only shows up in one panel, but any Killer Moth appearance is a good Killer Moth appearance!

Classic Killer Moth returns!!

The new 52 replaced the Killer Moth's awesome bug-inspired costume with a boring gas-mask. Well, the classic is back baby! Check out these pages from Batgirl 37 in which KM gives Batgirl a run for her money!

Let's hope this means more Killer Moth in his classic costume in the future!

Killer Moth Chronicles

While it's my least favorite version of the Killer Moth, the new 52 version of the character can be found in the recent board game, The Gotham City Chronicles.

It's a nicely sculpted model but I think I'll stick with my Heroclix version instead.

Funny Killer Moth cartoons!

I found a few funny Killer Moth cartoons on the interwebs featuring the Killer Moth.

This one is about his Mattel action figure - a toy I helped get made!

I still want to see the story where the Killer Moth works up his nerve to ask Batgirl out on a date.

Even better, you can make your own version of this cartoon!

Hey, watch your language, Killer Moth!!

More awesome Killer Moth cosplay

I received a large batch of photographs by Anthony Provolone - who, when he isn't spinning the records as a DJ in Lancaster, NY, builds costumes and cosplays as the Killer Moth! I think his version of the lethal lepidopterist is pretty great!

If you have created any Killer Moth related artwork or costumes, please share it with us at the Killer Moth Appreciation and Preservation Society!

Killer Moth Go!

Can we talk about the Killer Moth as he appears in Teen Titans Go! for a moment?

He's treated as a credible threat to the kids and often manages to best the team (at least temporarily) and you've got to admit, he's got a pretty cool outfit.

He's treated as an arch-nemesis to Robin (which is how he was portrayed in Chuck Dixon's run on Robin) which is almost as good as him fighting Batman.

He's also portrayed as a Dad figure whether its to his daughter Kitten, or the gross mutant Chuck or Starfire's adopted pet, Silkie, whom Killer Moth created in his lab.

As much as I like the original "anti-Batman" version of Killer Moth, I'm pretty happy with this version too! If only we could get an action figure of him!

P.S. If you want to learn how to draw the Teen Titans Go! version of the Killer Moth, go here!

Killer Moth appears in DC Super Hero Girls!

Because I am not a 8 year old girl, I haven't been paying super-close attention to the DC Super Hero Girls animated cartoon and toy series.

However, because the show features Batgirl (and many other DC heroines and characters), the Killer Moth was bound to show up eventually!

This version of the character is great - he's treated as an actual threat (unlike his portrayal on The Batman cartoon) and he doesn't have all of the goofy trappings and hang-ups like the Teen Titans Go incarnation.

He even flies around in a Moth-Copter! Next to the Brave and the Bold version, this might be my favorite animated Killer Moth yet!

Killer Moth makes a cameo in the upcoming  DC Super Hero Girls Free Comic Book Day issue. Gotta add that one to the list!

And best of all, he's the star of the book Butterfly Battle. Killer Moth on the cover of a kid's book? Somebody pinch me!

And if you pick up the DC Super Hero Girls Power Play sticker and paper doll book, you'll find a nice big sticker of the Killer Moth! Cool!

Man, what a great time to be a Killer Moth fan!

Awesome Mego custom figures

Mego's World Greatest Heroes was a toy line from the mid-70's to the early 80's and one of the first companies to make superhero action figures. It was the first Batman-related action figures I owned as a child and I've always been fond of them.

Some of the first professional action figure customizers worked with Megos. It's these Mego customs where the idea for the TV show Robot Chicken came from.

Needless to say, there are lots of great custom Megos out there, especially of the Killer Moth!

If you want to learn more about Mego action figures check out the amazing Mego Museum website (where many of these pictures are from)!

EDITORS NOTE: If anyone knows where I can get a Mego Killer Moth custom, contact me!!

Killer Moth in latest Lego collection!

The Killer Moth, whose new costume version debuted in the Lego Batman Movie, is part of the latest Lego mini-figure blindbag.

Feel for the helmet, the wings or the distinctive cocoon gun.

There are lots of great characters in this wave, including classic Bat-villains Hugo Strange, Dr. Phosphorus and the Clock King as well as some Super Friends!

Good luck and happy hunting!

The real Killer Moth returns!!

After years of having to tolerate a poorly designed, uncostumed version of the Killer Moth during the "New 52", we finally have the real version of the Killer Moth back thanks to the creative team on this week's Detective Comics!

In Detective Comics 696, The Killer Moth assembles an army of classic bat-villains including Mr. Zsasz, Ratcatcher, Firefly and Solomon Grundy. Will they be a match of Batman's team?

Welcome back, Killer Moth! We've missed you here at the Appreciation and Preservation Society!

Killer Moth rumored to be in upcoming "Batman: Arkham Insurgency" game!

The internet is abuzz with leaked rumors about the upcoming "Batman: Arkham Insurgency" game. Among the rumors is a list of villains appearing in the game. And on that list is... the Killer Moth! Can it be that we will finally get to fight Batman's greatest enemy again in a video game? (The last time a player could fight him was in Lego Batman)

The list of rumored villains includes: Joker (of course), Riddler, Two-Face, Dollmaker, The Mad Monk (!), Talon, The Court of Owls, Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle Dum, Maxie Zeus, Anarky, Blockbuster, Ventriloquist, Cornelius Stirk, Dusan Al Ghul, Dala and Hugo Strange.

That's a pretty twisted (and great) selection of Batman villains. Let's hope this is one rumor that's true!
